“No Justice, No Freedom” Morality of Law Discussion

At the next Law Society meeting, this coming Tuesday, October 18th, at 8pm in Paresky 220, we will be discussing the Morality of Law.

In the wake of recent court cases, most notably Troy Davis, considering the Morality of Law and our justice system is more important than ever. What should our courts do and how do we want them to do it?

The Williams College Law Society, along with Black Student Union, InterFaith, and the College Democrats will be examining the legal, political, and social ramifications of the Troy Davis case and the broader questions associated with other recent cases including Lawrence Russel Brewer, the killing of Anwar al- Awlaki, Casey Anthony, and others.

This discussion is not intended to reach a solution of fixing the system, but rather to instigate a provocative dialogue addressing these important issues.
