Law Teams

The Law Teams committee is responsible for representing the Law Society and Williams College in law-related academic competitions (Moot CourtMock Trial, and Mediation), and for assisting the Law Teams Director in his/her responsibilities, in preparing teams and members for competition.

Ex Officio member –Treasurer

Captains are responsible for general leadership for their respective teams as well as working with the Law Teams Director and the team coach to create a positive team environment, set the team roster (which may include tryouts), assign roles and responsibilities, create a practice and competition schedule, and plan team strategies for the season. Captains are also responsible for assisting the Law Teams Director with recruitment, fundraising, and publicity.

Active Team Membership

  • To be considered an active team member, one must have auditioned or attended the first team meeting, been selected to join the team, and attended at least two practices
  • Active team members may be called on to participate in fundraising, recruitment, and publicity activities as determined by the Director and team Captain
  • Team members should come prepared to practices and competitions, help create a positive team environment, and follow the leadership of the team captain
